AVEBE recognises that the approval of GM amylopectin potato AMFLORA by the European Commission will provide interesting opportunities for future development in non-food applications.
AVEBE's non-GM amylopectin potato starch, ELIANE has been developed in our own breeding institute by traditional methods. ELIANE has been produced by AVEBE for the past five years and is now very succesfully marketed into food and non-food sectors.
We wish to make clear that AVEBE processes only non-GM potato starches in all of its factories, and at this stage neither produces nor sells GM starches or proteins.
