Potato Partnership

Over a century ago, a bunch of Dutch farmers realised it’s better to work together than to toil alone. To this day, we’ve stuck to this principle. Our cooperative continues to grow and welcomes new members, employees and customers. Together we explore the complete potential of the potato. With our members, we’ve established our position in the market through innovation and creative implementation.

Optimeel

Optimeel is Avebe’s crop optimisation programme. Optimeel enables growers not only to improve their own results but also to contribute to the cooperative’s.

Working together for an optimal result

Market-driven sustainable potato cultivation is one of the pillars of the Avebe strategy. Optimeel is an important spearhead and part of Avebe’s 3×10:

  • 10% higher starch and protein yield per hectare
  • 10% less carbon emissions
  • 10% less environmental impact

More information about market-oriented sustainable potato growing, Avebe’s strategy and ambition is available in the integrated annual report.

Optimeel for growers

Optimeel is actively involved in potato growing, gaining knowledge and exchanging experience. Optimeel growers are the first to be informed of the latest developments in varieties and have easy access to them.

All the advantages for the grower:

  • annual report showing all crop results
  • special field meetings early in the season
  • participation in study groups
  • the latest information on new varieties and their timely availability

Finally, there is a financial allowance for participating in the cultivation registration programme.
