Avebe concludes a uniquely long campaign

18 May 2018
Cooperative Avebe today ends its 2017-2018 potato campaign at the Gasselternijveen location. The campaign at this location lasted longer than usual because the new line for high-grade potato protein was being tested. This all turned out well and the cooperative can look back on a successful campaign.

Cooperative Avebe today ends its 2017-2018 potato campaign at the Gasselternijveen location. The last potatoes are being delivered today. The processing period was longer due to the testing of the new Solanic line for high-grade potato protein. Solanic is mainly used in sweets, vegetable-based cheeses and meat substitutes. This all turned out well and the cooperative can look back on a successful campaign.

Good quality from start to finish

This potato campaign got off to a difficult start with rainy harvesting conditions in the autumn. This resulted in a slightly higher tare percentage of around 7 percent. Although the temperature has risen in the past month, the quality of the potatoes remained good in the final phase of the campaign. There were also few problems with the potato supply. Avebe can therefore look back on a successful campaign.

Starch content around 20%

This campaign’s starch content fluctuated around 20 percent with some ups and downs. This is in line with the long-term average.
