Campaign Avebe 2014-2015 completed12 Mar 2015
The quality of this campaign’s potatoes was better than last year. The starch content is 20.3%, which is slightly above the long-term average. The average tare figure was 6%, which is in line with the long-term average. The cooperative’s members largely utilised their delivery capacity.
The campaign started on time in August 2014 and was characterised from the beginning by major differences in the yield per region. Many starch potato growers achieved an above-average starch yield per hectare, but in one part of Avebe’s operational area growers faced heavy rainfall in the spring. This resulted in a lower yield in the affected areas, or in some cases no harvest at all.
