Royal Avebe joins United Nations Global Compact

Sustainability and innovation are key themes of Royal Avebe. These themes are therefore being central in the strategy of the cooperative. That is why Avebe joins the United Nations Global Compact initiative. The UN Global Compact is a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

David Fousert, CEO Royal Avebe: “Sustainability is high on Royal Avebe’s agenda and part of our growth strategy. Being a provider of high value potato based Food, Feed and Industrial ingredients , we already are often creating solutions for more sustainable chains for our customers . But in the end there is so much more to do and we believe a lot possible, in our own chain and with our customers.

Part of the solution

Together with thousands of other companies Avebe is globally committed to taking responsible business action to create the world we all want. And so they are part of the solution. Avebe’s innovative DUCAM technology and the installation of e-boilers are just some examples of what Avebe is doing to create a more sustainable supply chain. DUCAM is the sustainable concentration of potato juice with membranes. It saves energy, reduces CO2 emissions and filters the water from potato juice so that it can be reused. With their Responsible Sourcing Policy, Avebe ensures that human rights are respected throughout the chain.

Sustainable Development Goals

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
