Coöperatie AVEBE U.A, hereinafter referred to as Avebe, values the protection of your privacy and the development of technology that provides you with the most advanced and safe online experience. This privacy statement tells you how Avebe and its Dutch and foreign subsidiaries deal with your personal data.

This privacy statement tells you how Avebe and its Dutch and foreign subsidiaries deal with your personal data.

Your privacy is very important to Avebe, and therefore we abide by privacy legislation. It means that the personal data of our business partners and private individuals are always safe with us and that we use them properly.

Membership details

For our members we keep their e-mail address, name and address details, telephone number, acreage and financial information. We use this information to carry out the tasks of our cooperative, including:

  • To conduct our members’ administration, invoicing and administration;
  • To implement agreements, including making payments;
  • To organise events;
  • To inform members of relevant activities and the organisation of Avebe by means of electronic post or app, for example with the newsletter, whether or not accompanied by sponsored content;
  • To implement the Articles of Association and the regulations;
  • To deal with complaints and to record incidents;
  • To provide and manage closed websites and apps for its members and, by using cookies for example, to obtain information about the quality or effectiveness of websites and apps;
  • To perform analyses of cultivation details for statistical and scientific purposes;
  • For purposes of which you have been informed separately in advance;
  • To comply with statutory requirements, such as those regarding accounting and fiscal legislation.

The applicable lawful bases are to implement an agreement, compliance with statutory provisions and promoting our justifiable interests.  We retain this information for as long as this is required fiscally or as much longer as required to defend ourselves in any legal proceedings.

Suppliers and purchasers

For our suppliers and purchasers we keep their e-mail address, name and address details, telephone number and relevant contact details and financial information. We use this information to carry out the tasks of our cooperative, including:

  • To conduct our suppliers’ and clients’ administration, invoicing and administration;
  • To implement agreements, including making payments;
  • To facilitate the trade in potato products, including starch;
  • To organise events;
  • To inform suppliers and clients of relevant activities and the organisation of Avebe by means of electronic post or app, for example with the newsletter, whether or not accompanied by sponsored content;
  • To provide and manage closed websites and apps for its suppliers and clients and, by using cookies for example, to obtain information about the quality or effectiveness of websites and apps;
  • To perform analyses of personal data for statistical and scientific purposes;
  • For purposes of which you have been informed separately in advance;
  • To comply with statutory requirements, such as those regarding accounting and fiscal legislation.

Avebe members portal

With our ‘My Avebe’ portal, our members obtain access to a management environment where they can check, set, report and amend various things. We track what you did and when to ensure there is proof.

In the framework of your account management, we store your name and address details, telephone number, e-mail address and password. The applicable lawful bases are to implement an agreement, compliance with statutory provisions and promoting our justifiable interests.  We retain this information up to six months after closing your account.

Contact form and Newsletter

You can use the contact form to ask us questions or to make enquiries.

We will use your e-mail address, IP address, telephone number and name and address details for this purpose on the basis of your consent. We retain this information for three months following our last communication with you. This means we can easily access your information if you have any further questions. It also enables us to train our customer service to improve even further.

You can also subscribe to our newsletter, in which you can read the latest news, tips and information on our products and services. You can cancel this subscription at any time. Each newsletter has a link you can click to unsubscribe. You can also notify us via your account or the portal. Your e-mail address is only added to the list of subscribers with your express consent. These details are retained for up to three months after cancelling your subscription.

Advertising

We would like to send you advertising about special offers and new products or services. We do this:

  • By e-mail
  • Via social media

You can object to this advertising at any time by sending an e-mail to info@avebe.com. Furthermore, each e-mail has an unsubscribe link. Alternatively, you can block us or use the unsubscribe option.

Passing on your data to other companies or institutions

We do not provide your personal data to other business or institutions under any circumstances, unless we have a statutory obligation or informed you in advance. Our websites include social media buttons that are also used by the managers of those services to collect your personal data.

Cookies

Our websites may use cookies. Cookies are small files that allow us to store information, so that you will not have to provide the same information again and again. However, they also show us when you visit us again.

When you visit our website for the first time, we show a message with an explanation about cookies. In this message we ask you to agree to the use of these cookies.

You are entitled to ask to inspect your personal data and to ask us for rectification or erasure of personal data or to limit processing of your data, you are also entitled to object to processing and to require data portability with due regard to the limitations imposed by legislation.

When processing is based on consent, you are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. This does not prejudice the lawfulness of processing on the basis of the consent prior to your withdrawal.

You are entitled to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
